A New Crowd Is About To Move In.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios is already well underway with the creation of a new film, Big Hero 6.  This film will be an action-packed comedy adventure of Hiro Hamada, a robotics prodigy.   Hiro finds himself wrapped up in an evil plan that has threatened to destroy the city of San Fransokyo.  The city is very high-tech and fast-paced, making this the perfect home for a robotics prodigy.  Hiro gains the help of his closest pal Baymax (who just happens to be a robot) and teams up with a group of first-time crime fighters.  They all set out on a mission to save San Fransokyo.

The film is loosely based on the Marvel comics, “Big Hero 6.”  You can expect comic-book styled action, as well as the heart and humor of Disney Animation we have grown to love.  Using the same technology as Wreck It, RalphFrozen, and Tangled, this film is headed to theaters November 7, 2014.  This will be the first animated Marvel film the Disney Animation Studios will release.

Festival of Fantasy Parade Does a Quick Change?

Supposedly, Disney has recently made the decision to add Anna and Elsa, from the very popular movie Frozen, to the line-up of princesses in the new parade.  They will be added to the Princess Garden float portion of the parade, taking the place of Princess Aurora.  Looks like the Disney Princesses don’t play by the seniority rule.  The new-comers, I think, will be a great addition to the parade though.  New parade, new characters- it all makes sense to me!

The parade is  expected to make its debut down the streets of Magic Kingdom in mid-March.  I’m wondering if  this new addition of characters could possibly push the date back though.  Disney has made no official confirmation of all the characters you will see in the parade, but the magic is in the surprise, I suppose.

It’s All About YOU!

If you’re reading this post, then good.  It’s about you!  We want to hear from our readers.

Is there anything you would like to see more of from us?  Certain topics you want more of?  We want your feedback and ideas!  This will help us make the most out of our blog for all of you.

We’re still kind of new to this whole blogging thing and the majority of what we do is trial and error at this point.  Our newest little experiment we want to try is publishing your Disney experiences, memories, and stories.  We would love for you to all be more involved with our little “family” we’ve created and be able to read stories from another’s point of view, not just our practically perfect Disney stories.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Disney Channel Makes Television History

This past Sunday, Disney Channel made television history during an all new episode of “Good Luck, Charlie.” The show introduced the first (confirmed) same-sex couple on a children’s TV network.

In the episode, Duncan parents (Amy and Bob) set up a play-date with one of Charlie’s new friends, Taylor. While Bob is convinced Taylor’s mom is named Cheryl, Amy is under the impression that her name is Susan. When the doorbell rings, Taylor and two blonde haired woman are standing in the entry way of the Duncan household. Bob being Bob, goes [palm to face] “Taylor has two moms!” Queue Amy with a sarcastic comment about how nothing gets past Bob and there you have it, history being made!

Now, this is not the first same-sex couple on a Disney owned program. ABC Family, a sister station to the Disney Channel, premiered a new series last year who focuses on the family of a same-sex couple. “The Fosters” is currently in it’s second half of the first season and has been picked up for a second season. You can catch new episodes every Monday night at 9 on ABC Family.
