Light Up the Night with Glow with the Show- Fantasmic Style

Recently, a few months ago, I ventured back to Walt Disney World on vacation (because you can never have enough Disney in your life). Anyway, day two of this trip was spent at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and, while by far I have ventured into this park more than the other three combined during my time as a cast member, (this may come as a shock to many of you) I had never seen Fantasmic before. Now, most of my friends and my fellow bloggers call me insane, lifeless, and said I was missing out on the best show of the three nighttime shows at the parks (Wishes/Illuminations). So, in October, I finally had the chance to see what I was missing…

And wow were they right!

However, no matter what, Wishes will always hold the most special place in my heart, no doubt about it (makes me cry all the time and means the most emotionally to me). Fantasmic is visually stunning and definitely the most “epic” [actual] show of the three… Plus it incorporates the villains, which I absolutely LOVE.

What made this even more special, though, was that the showing I saw was the first of a brand new running of shows with the all-new “glow with the show” ears. While I was watching Fantasmic, I noticed the ears lighting up and matching what was going on throughout the show and I thought “wow what a great touch. That’s why Disney is the best. They always go the extra mile.” The next day I woke up after over sleeping (too much pixie dust) to a text from Woody telling me I was at the first “Glow with the Show” installment of Fantasmic and after having it explained to me, I thought that was pretty cool and I was a part of history. But, don’t let my words speak for the magic be sure to watch it yourself!

Fantasmic occurs twice a night, every night, at Hollywood Studios. My word of advice, wait for the second show. When you go to the second show, come and wait in the area outside the stadium around 45 mins earlier maybe if you can crack through the crowd or sprint your way through you can start waiting a little later… My Reason for this advice is A) The obvious you have more time to walk around the park and have fun with all the other attractions and B) When I attempted the 7 o’clock show, I walked into the stadium about 20-25 mins beforehand and there was absolutely no seating at all and only standing room available, but when I went to the 9 o’clock show, I only waited a little bit and this is what I got…

dead center (not too bad, huh?). In addition to more elbow room, my guess is that being later at night helps it a lot visually, although I havent seen it at 7 (sunset), so its your guess and choice. 🙂

Enjoy the show and hope I helped!

“Descendants” Announced by Disney as New Disney Channel Movie

Have you heard the news yet?  Disney has recently announced the making of a new Disney Channel Original Movie.  The film will be called Descendants and will star the children of famous Disney Villains (Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen).

The Villains and their kids have been placed on an island away from the kingdom ruled by a king and queen (a.k.a Belle and Beast).  Their son, however, is getting ready to take over the throne. The first thing he is going to do, offer the villainous teens a chance to redeem themselves.  They are given the chance to come into the kingdom and go to school alongside teens of famous Disney heroes (Fairy Godmother, Mulan, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty).  Faced with a dilemma, we shall see if these villainous teens follow in their parents footsteps or walk in the footsteps of the heroes and save the kingdom.

The film will be directed by Kenny Ortega.  He has directed films for Disney in the past and is highly known for the High School Musical films.

So what are your thoughts on this new film?  I am thinking it’s going to be Disney Channel’s version of Once Upon a Time.

Whoa! They’re Talented: Spell Block Tango

Okay so we want to try something a little different this week.  We have noticed that there are many very talented musicians, artists, etc. out in our world who share some Disney magic over websites, such as YouTube.

We have found some whom we really enjoy the work they have done and so we feel like sharing them with you.  A lot of these will be Disney related but others, we find just amazing, in general.

This week, it only makes sense to share with you the hot and trending video, “Spell Block Tango” with some Disney Villains, by Toderick Hall that has been blowing up social media the past couple of days.  We both watched it for the first time yesterday and thought it was just perfect.  He put a Disney spin on the famous “Cell Block Tango” from Broadway musical Chicago.

So, if you have not seen this video yet, you need to.  If you have seen it, well, watch it again.

Have a magical day!! °o°

The course had runners make their way from Hollywood Studios, through ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, and then back to the finish line at the The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction.  All along the course, runners had to watch out for the Disney Villains and other entertainment that haunt the path.  The course went through all different terrains like pavement, sand, and grass.  After the runners finished the race, the night is wasn’t over yet.  They joined all their favorite Villains for the Hollywood Bash Party.  They, also, could head over to the Family Reunion Area for characters and live entertainment.

It was also could’ve been a weekend for the whole family.  Families with tweens, teens, and adults were participants of the Disney Happy Haunted 5k Trail Run.  This race took place at 7:30 a.m., starting and finishing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.  Just like the 10-Miler, Disney entertainment was provided along the way.  This race was a great way for family and friends to have fun together and earn their very own 5k Finisher Medal.

Don’t worry if you’ve got kids younger than 13 years old.  Disney has thought of everything.  Events like the One Mile run or the Kids Dashes took place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.  The following races were divided into different age groups for the morning festivities.

  • 12 months and under – Diaper Dash for crawlers
  • 1-3 years old – 100m dash
  • 4-6 years old – 200m dash
  • 7-8 years old – 400m dash
  • One Mile – Open to all children 13 and under

All participants also received a medal at the end of their run.

All in all it was a fun-filled, magical weekend for all the runners who participated in this runDisney event.  We look forward to hearing all about the rest of this years running events being held at, both, the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts!
