Robin Williams: Gone Too Soon

The world lost one of the greats today.  Actor, Robin Williams, has passed away at the young age of 63.  He     has brought large audiences so much laughter and happiness throughout his career in Hollywood.

Disney fans of many generations know him as the beloved character, Genie, from Aladdin (1992) and Aladdin and the King of Theives (1996).  Williams’ talent brought Genie to life and gave the movie a comical side, making Genie a fan favorite to all ages.

Williams can be found in other Disney movies, such as Old Dogs (2009), Bicentennial Man (1999), Flubber (1997),and Jack (1996).

Robin Williams will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and fans.  His wide variety of acting credits make him known all over the country, as well as the world.  He brought so much talent into show business and will never be replaced.  We will continue to laugh along with his characters for many years to come.

We would like to send our condolences to Williams’ family during this very difficult time.

Rest in peace, Robin Williams.

Top 10 “Let It Go” Covers: Bonus Cover

This just in! Disney literally just uploaded this video.  If you watched the Good Morning America event that was a Frozen sing-a-along across the country, then you saw clips from this new video.  If you haven’t watched it yet, I’ve added it below for you, but this isn’t the bonus song!

The bonus song is the entire song as it was being sang by Anna and Elsa, themselves, from the Walt Disney World Resort with some very special children.

Life-Size[d]…Again?!

Remember that Disney movie they used to play on Disney Channel from way back when?  You know, the one with Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan pre-drugs and scandal?  If you were thinking “Life-Size” then lucky for me, we are on the same page.  For those of you who are reading this and have no clue what I’m talking about, keep reading for a quick run through of the original movie.

So, in 2000, Disney came out with an all new movie about a girl, Casey (Lindsay Lohan), who wishes to bring back her deceased mother by casting a spell.  Unfortunately, the spell back fires just a bit and this new doll, Eve (Tyra Banks), she was giving as a birthday present, comes to life instead.  Eve and Casey are about as opposite as the North and South Poles.  Eve, your typical Barbie doll (literally) who thinks she can do just about anything based on her different outfits she comes with and Casey, your stubborn, teenaged, tomboy who’s on the boy’s football team at her school and wants nothing to do with dolls, must work together to get what they both want, Eve back to her own world.

Tyra Banks has supposedly just confirmed that a sequel is in the works, nearly two decades since the original story.  If this is in fact true, don’t expect to watch the new film before the end of 2014 or 2015.  The whole thing is being kept very quiet and no word on if Lindsay Lohan will be returning for the second movie.  Personally, I don’t see how or why Disney would want to put Lindsay Lohan in a new movie in the first place.  I know she has a fairly successful past with the company, but given her reputation now, I don’t think it would be wise for Disney to sign her for anymore projects.

About 10 years ago I probably would be extremely excited about this news, however, looking back now and thinking how I was only 7 when Life-Size first came out, I’m a little iffy on this new development.  Children today are not going to understand a sequel when most probably have never seen or even heard of the original.  I don’t know if this is Disney’s way of trying to grant the wishes of all us “90s babies” who want shows like Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, and That’s So Raven brought back or they think it will be a hit.  But, I guess this is something we will never fully know, at least anytime soon.

On May 30, 2014, we will all know what caused Maleficent to curse the beautiful Princess Aurora.  Until then, check out this trailer to hold you over because I know you’re all dying to know what happens!
