Today, we have lost a member of the Disney family. Diane was Walt’s biological daughter who was one of the inspirations for Disneyland and movies like Mary Poppins.
Diane was 79 years old and passed away due to complications of a fall that she had in September. She played a large part in many projects for the Disney Company. She oversaw the development of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California, which opened in 2004. She also created the Walt Disney Family Museum, which opened in 2009 in San Francisco, California.
Diane was survived by her husband, Ron Miller. They met when she was just 20 years old and married in 1954. With the help of Walt, Ron was able to obtain various jobs on different Disney shows and by 1978, became the CEO and president of Walt Disney Productions. He held these positions until 1984.
Also surviving her, are their seven children, 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Her younger sister, Sharon, died in 1993.
We would like to send our deepest condolences to the Disney and Miller families. We have lost another great Disney. RIP Diane. °o°
